Announcement shows that deep tianma plans through a wholly owned subsidiary of xiamen tianma microelectronics co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "xiamen tianma") and the partner of xiamen international holding group co., LTD., xiamen rail construction development group co., LTD., xiamen golden circle industry development co., LTD in xiamen investment to set up a joint venture company, building 8.6 generation of new type of display panel production line project.


The registered capital of the joint venture company is 19.8 billion yuan. Among them, Xiamen Tianma invested 2.97 billion yuan and holds 15% equity of the joint venture project company. The partners make a total investment of 1.68 billion YUAN and hold 85% equity of the joint venture company in total.


The main technology of the project is a-SI and IGZO dual-track parallel technology, and 120,000 glass substrates of 2250mm×2600mm are processed every month. The target product market is vehicle, IT display screen (including flat panel, laptop, monitor, etc.), industrial products and other display applications.


According to Shentianma, the company has formed a mainstream display technology layout ranging from passive, A-SI TFT-LCD, LTPS TFT-LCD to AMOLED. The company has two to six generation TFT-LCD production lines (including A-SI and LTPS), 5.5 generation AMOLED production lines, 6 generation AMOLED production lines, TN and STN production lines.


LEDinside noted that in addition to LTPS TFT-LCD and AMOLED technologies involved in its main business, Shentianma has also made a layout in new display technologies such as Mini/Micro LEDin recent years.


In terms of Mini LED, Shentianma started the research and development of Mini LED technology as early as 2018. Currently, it mainly focuses on vehicle and medium size (tablet and pen) display fields. A 12.3-inch directional sound display with Mini LED technology has also been released.


Micro LED, Shentianma has completed the development of flexible, transparent, splicing display technology, and continue to actively pay attention to the development of Micro LED technology; At the end of 2021, we will set up Micro LED Ecological Alliance with upstream and downstream partners to accelerate the application of Micro LED in the field of vehicle display.


In addition, Shentianma released new products at the end of last year, such as 5.04 inch Micro LED splintered display, 9.38 inch transparent Micro LED display, 7.56 inch Flexible Micro LED display and 11.6 inch rigid Micro LED display.


In addition, Shentianma is also actively building new display centers/laboratories. In 2019, Shentianma invested and set up hubei Yangtze New Display Industry Innovation Center, a wholly-owned subsidiary in Wuhan, Hubei province, as the company's new display industry innovation and development platform; At the end of 2021, Shentianma signed a contract with Xiaomi to jointly build a new display technology joint laboratory to jointly develop cutting-edge display panel technology.


Shentianma said that the project will complement the company's existing production line, increase the scale advantage and cost advantage, with the company's accumulated experience in technology and other aspects, will strengthen the company's opportunity capture ability and product competitiveness in the vehicle display business, maintain the leading position in the vehicle business; Accelerate the expansion of IT market such as laptop and tablet, and further improve the company's small and medium-sized production line layout.
